My "old" SU carbs have had there day and need to be replaced ASAP, the idle fluctuates between 800 - 1800rpm and will not balance .
The carbs needed would have to be complete performance carbs in excellent / as new condition.
They are for a "fast road" / "competion" 1300 engine (formaly ian 51's spare race car engine)
I know Dave recomends Dellorto's so this would be my carbs of choice but i would need them jetted for the engine.
the engine spec as follows:

Quote:
It made 98 Bhp at the back wheels at 6800 RPM When i first put it in so i would expect it to be the same now.
a Ken Riley head who used to build a lot of the Spitfire racers Engines it is very good and TBH im not sure there are any improvements that can be be made to it ! Same with the Crank and Rods also belived to be Ken Riley and when i built that engine up i had them crack tested and checked for ovality and it was all good. The copper big ends were Cleavite (Better than SA rubbish)
it has + 30 Mahle Pistons (the next best thing to forged)
Lightened Balanced and Tuftridden CRank
Lead Copper Big ends + 20
SA Mains + 20
Blue printed oil pump and very good baffling i had this off dave sideways and he did a very nice job
Head is of unknown origin cos it came with the car when i brought it but the Comp ratio is about 11:1
Jigsaw Cam folloers with Bleed Hole
Re profiled kent 264 cam (very peaky)
Duplex gear

Cheers Neil

Sold - GT6 MkIII (no body)

As you can see, this GT6 is not complete, the body has been removed making it perfect for use for a six cylinder Spitfire project or you could use the parts to upgrade your early Vitesse, Herald or Bond. At some point the chassis has been powder coated, so is in great condition.

The engine has done about 15k miles since rebuild and I believe the J-type overdrive has not done much work either since re-build, a spin-on oil filter conversion has been fitted.
Brake lines have have been replace with copper lines and braided hoses.

Unfortunately there are a few things missing, including the alternator, propshaft, airbox, coil, starter and obviously the body.

*edit* Also the running gear does need a replacement half shaft as one shaft is bent, but a Spitfire one with the GT6 brake may fit.

I can arrange local delivery at cost.

I'm having a major clearout of stuff thats accumulated over the years.

I've got a pir of mk1 bucket seats. the covers and frame or good but the bolster foam has crumbled. pretty rare so i've been told. the vinyl is good. i noticed a 5mm nick on the passenger seat bolster and a 10p rub on the side too. otherwise ok. need a good clean. If anybody is really interested i'll give them a scrub and take more pics.

Matt
